Hi, my name is Kerry, and this year, I’m running the Hull 10K in support of Compassion for Greek Paws (C4GP), a small but dedicated animal shelter in northern Greece that means the world to me.
Founded in 2015 by Amanda Maguire Deligianni, the shelter has continued its mission through the tireless work of volunteers after Amanda’s passing. Though they are no longer taking in new dogs, they remain fully committed to giving the animals still in their care a safe, healthy, and loving life until they can be homed — or until they grow old under the shelter’s care. Every dog is neutered, vaccinated, regularly seen by a vet, and most importantly, known and loved.
The volunteers give everything they have to these animals, often with very limited resources.
That’s why I’m lacing up.
After a recent injury, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to take part in this year’s race, but I’ve managed to train back up and I’m ready to run the Hull 10K on June 8th — and I’d love your support to raise funds for C4GP, just as I’d originally intended.
The Hull 10K is a fast, flat course starting at Craven Park, looping through East Park and back again. It’ll be my second time running Hull 10k, and if I can help some paws in the process? Even better.
Every donation goes directly to the care of the shelter dogs: food, vet bills, upkeep — and maybe even a little comfort for those still waiting for their forever home.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, donating, or just cheering me on. Let’s do this for the dogs
Update. The run is now completed.
I completed the full 10k, running the entire course and beating my personal best for a 10k run by 10 minutes.
Thank you to all who have donated!
