This Mother's Day weekend (May 9th, 2026), Zander Arnold, Dylan Fanico, and Matt Kaufman will take on one of the world's most grueling marathons. 26.2 miles across the Great Wall of China, conquering over 5,500 stone steps and nearly 10,000 feet of elevation.

This challenge honors the memory of Zander's mother, Franchesca Martitsch Arnold, who passed away in December 2025 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Known for her adventurous spirit and unwavering strength, Franchesca faced her illness with the same grace and determination that defined her life.

When Franchesca was first diagnosed, we discovered that this marathon existed by Googling "world's hardest marathon." The goal was simple: find something that we could fight through by her side - a feat as bold and inspiring as the woman it honors. Without hesitation, Dylan and Matt answered the call. Together, the three friends will run side by side, pushing through pain and exhaustion, carrying Franchesca's memory with every step.

Our Goal: Raise $50,000 for the ICU at Brigham and Women's Hospital, which directly cared for Franchesca with immense compassion and dedication during her treatment.

Every donation supports the incredible doctors and nurses who stand with families during their most difficult moments. After the race, all funds will be transferred directly to the ICU at Brigham and Women's.
