Running the Great North Walk for Wires
I am a dad, husband, partner at Deloitte and ultra-marathon runner, I want to make an impact that matters and want to do it in a sustainable way. This year has been tough on a number of fronts for everyone in the world. In Australia we had back to back bushfires and then COVID19. My wife Dee has been supporting wires for the past few years and now is my time to help as the wildlife in Australia has never been more impacted before...
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me!
WIRES assists tens of thousands of animals every year and last financial year received over 95,000 requests for rescue assistance. Currently we are facing the biggest event in our history as bushfires have burned 5 million hectares of forests and an estimated 1 billion native animals have lost their lives.
I am raising money for Wires and to make it an interesting fundraising challenge, I will run theGreat North Walk, a 260km trail from Sydney to Newcastle with twice the elevation of the Everest in between in a few days. you will be able to join my journey live as I will be carrying a GPS.
Thanks for supporting WIRES and I in this journey! Also a huge thanks to my wife Dee and Noah for supporting my training the past 8 months of training and this 260km run.
Now, let’s get it done!
Cheers,
Thierry
