Running The Big Half for Nepal Flood Relief

This Sunday, I’ll be running The Big Half in London, but this run will mean much more to me than simply crossing the finish line.
I’m running to raise funds for the people of Nepal who have been devastated by the recent catastrophic floods on 26 August.
The scale of the disaster is heart-breaking. According to the latest reported figures:
- More than 1,250 people have lost their lives
- Thousands of people remain missing or out of contact
- Around 7,500 homes have been completely destroyed
- Approximately 20,000 homes are expected to require rebuilding
- More than 10,000 households require immediate relief
- Over 93,000 people are estimated to have been affected
- Thousands have been injured or displaced
- Communities, villages, roads, bridges and vital infrastructure have been devastated across the affected areas
Behind every one of these numbers is a person, a family and a community whose life has been changed overnight.
Where will your donation go?
100% of the funds I raise will be donated to the Government of Nepal Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
The fund supports nationwide disaster rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations, helping Nepal respond to communities affected by these floods.
Once the fundraiser is complete, I will transfer the money raised to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and share confirmation of the donation so everyone who has supported the campaign can see where the money has gone.
Why I’m running
Nepal means a great deal to me, and seeing the devastation caused by these floods has been incredibly difficult.
I was already due to run The Big Half this Sunday, so I want to use those miles for something bigger.
Every mile I run will be for the people who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods, and for the communities facing the enormous task of rebuilding.
