Hi everyone,

My name is Lily and next month I’m taking part in my first Race for Life for someone incredibly special to me - my Grandad ❤️ In the space of just a week, my family’s lives have been turned upside down. Just last week we were told he had cancer and that it had spread elsewhere, to him sadly passing away today. It is so unbelievably heartbreaking and painful and as a family we are all still in shock.

I am running this race in honour of him, his strength, unconditional love and everything he has meant to our family along with all of the unforgettable memories we’ve been so lucky to have. I am also running for anyone who has been through or might face something like this one day. No one should have to watch a loved one be taken from them so fast.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards Cancer Research UK to help fund life-saving research, early diagnoses and hopefully one day, a cure. If you’re unable to donate then please share this to spread the message.
