Not Running out of Road and Time Anymore!!!

********Update*******Our goal was met and exceeded!  Everything will be ok and we can get stabilized now. Thank you all for your donations and prayers- we may have a new place to move to by the end of today. 

We had no solutions Friday morning. Now we have options and HOPE! We will pay this forward. Words fail to convey our gratitude. 

This is Amy. Mike and I have hit a real wall in our lives financially. And both of us are working full time. We moved out of our apartment of the last 14 years in February. We have been struggling to pay an additional $1800 a month in bills belonging to Mike’s Mom Verdawn, who has been in subacute care since she had an aneurysm in April 2021. I was unemployed for 9 months last year and found a decent job in December, but the pay is low for California standards.

We are currently in a kind of Extended Stay studio with our cats. And we are grateful to be here since February 23rd.

However, we just received a notice that the property we are staying at is slated to be torn down and everyone has to vacate on May 1st. Even the staff here were not notified of the decision made at the corporate office.

Our deposit for our current place will not come back to us for up to a month after we move out. We have only been here a month and have not had time enough to be able to put aside $1500-$2000 for another deposit for a new place.

We need to have first month’s rent and security deposit no matter how humble the place we are moving to is.

We are not going to be able to have the full rent necessary to stay here for one more month due to recent car expenses. If we put all of our money together on April 1st for rent, we are still $200 short with no money for gas food or anything else for two weeks. We don’t have anyone to borrow money from. We both need our cars for driving to our jobs and there are additional issues with each car that will render them unusable soon if we can’t the remaining repairs.

I’ve tried to take on a personal loan to help us through this, but I currently have two personal loans that I’m paying off and I am not qualifying for an additional loan at this time.

Mike has been successfully trading in the stock market and has been able to cover massive bills over the last three years, but he had to use the principal money he uses for trading in order to cover our bills in the last half of 2023.

We are very resourceful people, and I have solved so many challenges and issues through problem-solving and divine guidance. We don’t have anything to sell, no savings left to pull from, and no friends or family in this area we live in that can assist us. We need to live here due to my Mike’s Mom’s condition, so moving away to somewhere less expensive is not an option.

I am not asking anyone to give anything they don’t have. Mike and I are deeply embarrassed to post this. We have run out of time and options. We are still trying to find anywhere we can go to. Sometimes there are just too many barriers.
