Help Me Take on my first HYROX and Fund Cancer Research

Donation protected
Hi everyone!

This year, I’m stepping far outside my comfort zone to take on my first HYROX competition — a grueling event that includes an 8-kilometer race and eight functional workout stations that test both physical fitness and mental toughness. Over the next three months, I’ll be training five days a week, balancing this challenge with my responsibilities as a father and full-time professional.

But this journey isn’t just about fitness or completing the race — it’s about making a difference for a cause that is incredibly personal to me.

When I was a teenager, I lost my father and a dear friend to cancer. My father was only in his early forties; my friend was the same age as I was. Their battles with cancer had a deep impact on me, and growing up, playing sports was my lifeline — it kept me grounded and helped me cope with those profound losses.

Now, as a father to Gabriel (just 1½ years old) and Georgia (3½ years old), I want to lead by example. I’m challenging myself to set new standards — not just for my health and fitness — but to inspire my kids to see what’s possible when you commit to a goal, even one that feels daunting.

I’ll be competing in the HYROX Belgium event on the 5th of April (learn more here: hyrox.com/event/hyrox-belgium) and raising funds for three incredible organizations based in Belgium:

KickCancer: KickCancer began as one Belgian family’s fight against pediatric cancer. Today, it’s a public foundation that funds critical pediatric oncology research and advocates for better treatments to ensure every child gets a fighting chance.

Leuven Cancer Institute: The Leuven Cancer Institute was established as part of KU Leuven and University Hospitals Leuven to unite cancer researchers, cancer specialists, and health care professionals in the fight against cancer. The institute combines and integrates research, therapy, and care to boost interaction between these domains.

BIG Against Breast Cancer: BIG is the philanthropic unit of the Breast International Group, funding academic breast cancer trials and research to advance treatments and save lives. My mom has run several 20K races to support this organization, inspiring me to do the same.

My goal is to raise €8,000 in total — €1,000 for every kilometer I’ll run at HYROX — to support these organizations in their fight against cancer. While the amount is symbolic, every euro makes a real difference in funding life-saving research and providing hope to families facing this devastating disease.

Your support means the world to me. Whether you can contribute €5, €50, or €500 — or simply share this campaign with your network — you’ll be part of this mission to make a difference.

Thanks for your support,

Vincent
