Running for Clarissa – NYC & Perth Half Marathons
On March 16th in New York and May 25th in Perth, I will be running two half marathons in memory of my dear friend, Clarissa Nicholls, who tragically passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition while studying abroad.
The last time I saw Clarissa was in Bologna in November 2022. I hadn’t seen her in a while, and I will forever cherish that moment—the joy she radiated, the warmth she shared, and the infectious energy that made her truly unforgettable.
Clarissa was a force of nature. A dedicated French and Italian student at Cambridge, she embodied a “work hard, play hard” spirit—excelling academically, first in line for a night out, and first up for her morning runs.
Tragically, Clarissa passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition. 1 in 300 young people suffer from an undetected cardiac condition, and many of these lives could be saved with early screening. In her memory, I am raising funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)—a charity dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac deaths through screening, research, and support for affected families.
Every donation helps provide vital heart screenings for young people, ensuring that no one else loses a loved one too soon.
Please consider donating, sharing, or simply spreading awareness. Every step I take in these races is for Clarissa, and every contribution helps protect another young life.
Thank you for your support.
