Running for the Hondurians

Last month, I had the honor of going on a mission trip to Honduras that forever changed my life. As I said when I first returned home, my next "run challenge" would be to raise money for the people of Honduras.

I won't ever forget them, and I hope that I can have some small impact on bettering the life of one child, if not many, through this challenge. My perspective changed greatly over the 8 days I spent in Honduras. One thing I learned is that all humans feel pain equally and all humans love equally; no matter their condition, circumstances, background, or future. We all feel pain and we all love.

I met a little boy living in a landfill who was sitting in between vultures and a cow fighting over trash when he came up to us for water and a hotdog. I will never forget the feeling deep in my core as I looked into that child's eyes as I handed him a bag of water. He just hugged me. I didn't want to let him go.

The challenge is this. Run a marathon (26.2 miles) a day unbroken for the month of May (weekends off). The challenge is to raise money for the Ambassadors for Christ to provide sponsorships to these children so that they can help more of them like we did on our mission trip.
I had never dreamed of doing such a thing and now it's all I think about. A gift of $120 will provide a full sponsorship of a child for an entire month. I spent 8 days personally working with Ambassadors for Christ and vouch for their efforts and mission. This is an amazing organization that I fully support and I encourage you to do the same.
