Running for the Dogs of Boracay
Over the next three months, I’ll be running four races totaling 37 kilometres to raise £400 for an incredible cause — to help the the stray dogs (and cats!) of Boracay, Philippines with Barc Animal Adoption & Rescue Centre
Boracay is a beautiful island with a heartbreaking problem: hundreds of stray animals struggling to survive. The amazing volunteers at Boracay Animal Adoption & Rescue Centre dedicate their time to rescuing, feeding, and providing medical care for these animals — but they rely entirely on donations to keep going. Every pound raised helps pay for veterinary treatment, food, shelter, and vaccinations, giving these animals a real chance at a better life.
I first visited Boracay when the BAARC charity was just getting started, and during my short time there I had the chance to spend time with the volunteers and some of the dogs and cats they care for. The compassion and dedication I saw left a special place in my heart, and it’s why I want to do something to help them continue their incredible work.
Now, I know 37km might not sound like a lot to seasoned runners — but for me, it’s like an ultra marathon. Each 10k race will be a real challenge, and I’ll be running every step for the animals who can’t help themselves.
I will be running the following races:
- Beachy Head 10km / 25th October
- South Downs 12km Dog Friendly Trail Run / 8th November
- Witterings 5km Dog Friendly Beach Run / 29th November
- Goodwood 10km / 6th December
If you can spare even a small donation, it would mean the world — not just to me, but to the dogs and cats of Boracay who need it most.
Thank you so much for your support — and wish me luck!
