In true Dave style ... I'm a little late putting this out there, but wanted to be certain!

This year I'll be setting myself a challenge to raise money for the two UK based syngap1 charities, which as many of you know is very close to our hearts! These two charities put so much work into researching SYNGAP1, how to better support families, improve treatments - this creates huge help & support for those diagnosed with SYNGAP1 and all future diagnosis.

This year will be fours years since we received our SYNGAP1 diagnosis for Quinn, aged 3 at the time. Just 1 week before our wedding!

With this came so many questions of how this would impact Quinn - but already we had been given an answer to many of her struggles already apparent.

Quinn is a sporadic case which means ONE CELL had a little party whilst the early weeks of pregnancy.

Through having SYNGAP1, Quinn has epilepsy, global developmental delay, intelligectual impairment, low muscle tone, hyper mobility, she is non verbal/cannot speak, she can have aggressive behaviour and is soon to have a neurological assesment as she is showing signs of Autism - which is also associated alongside SYNGAP1. She has so much to cope with on a daily basis and everyday can be a challenge for her, but throughout all this - she smiles everyday! She's a very happy and caring little girl and she inspires me to do and be a better version of myself everyday.

Brighton Marathon on the 6th April

Ashford Marathon on 13th April

Endure 24 on the 7th June in Reading were I'll be looking to complete 3/4 marathons in 24 hours

Quinn is my inspiration for everything I do, her resilience, strength, her smile and happy nature is what makes her and not her condition. The challenge I have set myself will push me to the limits, but I know it's nothing compared to what Quinn has to go through everyday with her seizures.
