I’m raising funds to participate in a series of Louisiana-based 5k races, with the goal of supporting research and treatment for both multiple sclerosis and bladder cancer. This cause is deeply personal to me—about a year ago, I was diagnosed with MS, and more recently, my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He’s just finished chemo and bladder removal surgery, and his recovery has been tough. When he was diagnosed, he told me he was determined to get better and start running again. I promised him I’d run for him in the meantime, and I hope this effort will help lift his spirits.

Running has been a way in the past for my dad and I to stay connected, even though we live in different states. Before our diagnoses, we used to keep up with each other's runs through apps, and now I’m starting the return to our past tradition by entering local races in Louisiana. Most of these will be 5ks, but if my training goes well and my body cooperates, I hope to take on a 10k as well. The funds raised will help cover my race entry fees, and the remainder will be tithed to my church, sent to my parents to help cover this unexpected extended hospital stay and donated to organizations supporting MS research and treatment. I’ll share updates on the specific races as I finalize those details, so donors can see exactly how their support is making a difference.

Faith has played a huge role in getting us through our diagnoses and it has been such a gift to see my dad's faith grow through this trial. The Lord placed me in a strong covenant community before giving me this trial and they were nothing but a blessing as I navigated my diagnosis.

This fundraiser is not just about running—it’s about honoring my dad, supporting important causes, and showing that even in the face of health challenges, we can keep moving forward with our trust and hope firmly fixed on the Lord. Donations for bladder cancer will go straight to my parents to help cover this unexpected extended hospital stay.
