Running For Rage - The Great South Run

10 Miles To Go…

On the 16th October this year we (Sarah & Stace) will be taking on the mean feat that is The Great South Run. We will be tearing up the tarmac in some apt rainbow inspired outfits of some sort in loud tribute to a great friend. We shall be Running For Rage!!

As many of you may already be aware we lost our beautiful friend Vicky (Rage) in October last year after her long battle with GIST cancer. October marks the one year anniversary of our loss and we wanted to pay tribute in some way as well as raising awareness to a lesser known and more rare types of cancer.

We’ll be running the 10 mile race together along the Portsmouth coast where Vicky adored living for many years and where SO many special memories were made between us. It will be one hell of an emotional ride along the way!

We would be over the moon if you could spare a little for such an important cause, we all know that some of the smaller charities often get overlooked at large events like this, so all the more important to raise awareness.

More information about GIST Cancer UK: GIST Cancer UK provides information and support for patients with a rare form of cancer known as Gastro-Intestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST).

Gist Cancer UK hold support meetings throughout the UK for patients and their carers, and host an online community providing practical advice and information. They also fund research into furthering treatment options for GIST patients and work with medical professionals to increase awareness and understanding of GIST cancer.

Their work is phenomenal but obviously more help and funding is always needed due to the very nature of this illness being one of the rarer forms of Cancer.
