Running for Rafaela

Hello, we’re Jessica & John and we're raising awareness of stillbirth and hope you could help us raise some money for Remember My Baby. On 2nd June 2022, Rafaela Lucia-Olivia Archer-Howell was born asleep, weighing 4lb 13.5oz at 7pm. She is our second born baby girl, and what a beautiful little girl she was, she looked just like her big sister with darker hair like her mummy. No parent expects to go through what we have these past 7 months and for the rest of our lives, Stillbirth is something me and John were both aware of but never thought it would happen to our baby girl. In those moments after losing Rafaela, we didn’t know what to think, how to feel, or what to do. An immense feeling of numbness took over my body and I felt as though I was living someone else’s life, or I was in a terrible nightmare and I’d wake up and things would be different. The day after Rafaela was born we were told about the charity ‘Remember My Baby’ who provide photographs for families who lose their baby. We were told a lady named Jane would come about 12pm to take photos of Rafaela. Jane was wonderful, she was so gentle with Rafaela and us and has really given us memories we can treasure forever, it is a beautiful thing these volunteers offer families dealing with loss and is something me and John would never of thought of asking about and I am so thankful we didn’t need to think or ask as this service was availble to us. We can’t thank this charity enough for providing us with this service at such a difficult time and for giving us memories that will last forever.

To help raise money in aid of Remember My Baby, John & Rafaela’s Godfather Kieran are running a marathon on 4th June 2023 (Glorious Gargrave- Leeds Liverpool Canal 2023) in remembrance of our little girl.
