Running for Palestine & Lebanon
Donation protected
In one month's time, I will be kitting up to run the 50km Ultra-Trail Kosciuszko held on Ngarigo Country.
I want to use this event will be used as an opportunity to raise desperately-needed funds for the millions subject to the genocide and violence across Palestine and Lebanon. All funds raised will be split evenly between two organisations:
UNICEF’s Gaza Appeal providing urgent aid including food, medical treatment, and water for families affected by the genocide.
Beit el Baraka who are on the ground in Lebanon providing emergency relief to thousands of displaced Lebanese civilians.
It has now been over a year of ongoing genocide in Palestine by the zionist regime. As a Lebanese man, it has been debilitating to wake up each day to endless, live-streamed massacres and watching familiar places destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of families, like my own, have been displaced. Many have lost loved ones or have been completely wiped out.
There are feelings of sorrow and rage I have never felt before, and sometimes I am at a loss for what to do. I realise I am now a part of the next generation of children of Palestine and Lebanon in the diaspora to learn the true meaning of مقاومة (resistance) and being صامدون (steadfast).
The Palestinian and Lebanese people are connected at the root. Our cause is one. Our resistance to colonisation and occupation united. I have never felt more proud to be Lebanese and Arab and the righteousness of the cause of Palestinian liberation could not be clearer in my heart and mind.
This is the first live-streamed genocide. No one can say "they did not know."
Glory to all martyrs.
God with the living and those putting their lives on the line.
Free Palestine.
