I’m running the London Marathon for someone very special.
I’ve been friends with Sam and Danni for a long time, and their daughter Naomi has faced more in her short life than most of us ever will. I’m taking on 26.2 miles to help them give her the safest possible future.
Naomi lives with multiple complex, life-threatening food allergies and severe eczema, meaning everyday foods can put her life at risk.
At just seven months old, during her first introduction to peanut butter, she suffered a severe anaphylactic reaction. Naomi was rushed to hospital, required four EpiPens, a last-resort infusion, and had ICU on standby. Months later, she experienced another serious reaction to an unknown food, again needing urgent medical care.
Alongside this, Naomi’s severe eczema causes constant discomfort and requires ongoing treatment. Keeping her safe means constant vigilance — every meal, environment, and outing must be carefully controlled, with emergency medication always close by.
Naomi now needs specialist private care in London to give her the best chance of reducing these risks and living a safer, more normal life. This treatment is lengthy and expensive, involving Oral Immunotherapy (OIT), food challenges, skin prick testing, and blood tests — with each appointment costing £300+. Her nursery has already raised an incredible £5,000, but this is just the beginning.
Your donation will help Naomi access life-changing treatment, reduce her daily risk, and support a family doing absolutely everything they can to keep their child safe.
Every mile I run — and every pound raised — is for Naomi’s future.
