On May 18th, I’ll be running the Hackney Half Marathon to raise funds for Medical Action Myanmar UK — a charity delivering life-saving healthcare to those most in need in Myanmar.
As someone who is Burmese, this cause is deeply personal to me. The recent earthquakes have devastated communities already burdened by conflict and poverty. Families have lost homes, access to clean water, and the ability to get even basic medical care.
I feel this is the least I can do — to run, to raise awareness, and to support a charity making a real difference on the ground.
Medical Action Myanmar UK works directly with local health teams to provide:
Emergency care in earthquake-hit areas
Mobile clinics for remote villages
Essential medicines and equipment
Long-term health support for vulnerable families
Every step I take in Hackney is for the people of Myanmar.
Please donate what you can — your support means everything.
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Medical Action Myanmar UK and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Medical Action Myanmar (MAM) is a medical aid organization, whose mission it is to improve access to quality health care for the poorest of Myanmar people. They focus on the most vulnerable people in very remote areas and in urban slums, where most people cannot afford to pay for adequate health care services.
