Help Advance Life-Saving Neurosurgery
In 2025, just slightly one month before I was set to run the 129th Boston Marathon, what started as a simple headache turned out to be a brain tumor. In an instant, everything changed. Thanks to God, my family, and the life-saving care of Dr. Carl Heilman, my tumor was successfully removed after having two major brain surgeries, and I was given a second chance at life.
One year later, I am returning to the 130th Boston Marathon not just as a runner, but with a deeper purpose: to give back and support the work that made my recovery possible.
I am raising funds to support neurosurgery resident research and education in the treatment of complex skull base conditions under Dr. Heilman’s leadership.
Through this effort, I am proud to support a mission that focuses on:
• Advancing research into the treatment of skull base pathology, some of the most complex and delicate conditions in neurosurgery
• Training the next generation of neurosurgeons through hands-on anatomical dissections and specialized surgical education
• Promoting excellence in surgical techniques that improve patient outcomes and save lives
Skull base surgery requires extraordinary precision, training, and innovation. By supporting this cause, you are helping equip neurosurgery residents with the skills and knowledge needed to perform these life-saving procedures with confidence and care.
This is more than a fundraiser; it is a way to invest in the future of medicine and help others receive the same life-changing care that I did.
Every step I take in the marathon represents gratitude, resilience, and a commitment to giving others the same chance I was given.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
