Marathon #44 - Ohio - Running for Jenna's Promise

Welcome to my page for my 42nd State Marathon on my quest to run a marathon in every state. Starting in 2008 and aiming to finish by April 2027... I have wanted to raise money for this charity since my friends, Marc & Shari Walker, told me their cousin's story.

Greg and Dawn Tatro lost their daughter, Jenna, to substance abuse disorder. In 2019, they started Jenna's Promise and they have built an innovative program that gives women transitioning out of rehab the time and space to heal and build good habits before returning home. Jenna’s Promise provides housing, therapy, workforce development, and a strong community to help women stay sober.

They purchased five buildings in town and created businesses that offered jobs for women in the program. First, they work at the appliance store, which sells “scratch and dent” appliances at a 60 percent discount. Jenna’s Promise also owns a coffee roasting company, a café, and a general goods store.
