Running for Imogen and James: Supporting Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Rob, and I will be running my first marathon in Stockholm on 31st May 2025 to support my cousin Imogen and her husband James, whose lives were turned upside down when James suffered a massive stroke and overnight Imogen became the sole carer.
Just over a year ago, shortly after I first started running, James had a severe stroke during open-heart surgery, which affected his walking, talking, and general mobility. Since that moment, he has been unable to work, will likely never be able to teach again, and is no longer able to participate in any of the sports he once loved.
The funds raised will help pay for some of the necessary physical adaptations they need to make to their home to make life more accessible. This includes creating a disability-friendly bathroom and supporting physiotherapy costs to help James regain movement in his right arm and to help him learn to walk.
Thank you so much for your support.
