Five years ago to the day, we lost a good one. My mom, Grace Davi McMahon, succumbed to pancreatic cancer. She was the young age of 79.

As a tribute to her, I have my sights set on an ambitious goal that would make her proud. On September 24th, I'm running my first 50K trail race just outside Bend, Oregon. The 31-mile distance is 10x longer than my longest race to date. By the end of it, I will have climbed the equivalent of 370 staircases, or 3,700 feet. In her honor, I'm raising $10,000 to benefit The Lustgarten Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the research related to pancreatic cancer. All donations are welcome. Even small ones can make a difference.
