Running For Dignity (Cancer Charity)
Lynne Ward was a loving, kind and generous mother, wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law and friend to many. Unfortunately Lynne was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer that she fought both heroically and courageously for many months. Sadly, On Christmas Day, 25th December 2018 she lost her battle and gained her angels wings.
Lynne's passing has been hard on those close to her, however her fighting spirit has inspired many including myself. This has led to my decision to run the Gold Coast Marathon on July 7th 2019. All monies raised will be distributed to 'The Dignity Initiative', which has been set up by Lynne's loving husband and my big brother Michael. The dignity Initiative aims to help with maintaining dignity of individuals when battling cancer and those placed into palliative care. This Initiative has been set up by my brother will forever be a lasting legacy that aids to honour Lynne's life, while supporting countless others affected by this horrible disease.
I will be running the marathon in a singlet designed to honour Lynne's life and represent 'The Dignity Initiative'. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and going towards a worthy cause.
