Hello- my name is Sonja. I live in Roscommon.

My 2 daughters & I are doing the Dingle Half Marathon on September 6th to raise much needed funds for Brain Tumour Ireland & Cancer Care West.

Our world was turned upside down 19

months ago when my husband Des was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour. Despite all that Des has been through and is going through, he is still an Incredible husband and father and we are immensely proud of him.

Des has worked so hard all his life- There is nothing he would not do to

help someone- you could always count

on Des. But for now, Des has to mind

himself and we also have to mind him as we strive to literally get him back in the driving seat.

We are so grateful to the surgeons, consultants, doctors, nurses and

everyone who is helping Des.

We cannot Thank them enough.

We would like to raise money for our

2 chosen charities to try to help other

families like us, who never expected or

expect to be on the journey that we are on.

We are also doing this in honour of Des.

For anyone who is lucky enough to know Des, you know why. For anyone who doesn't, I wish that you did.
