Last year in September, we lost our best friend…

My dad.

He passed away suddenly from complications with his heart, which he had struggled with in the past.

We never got to say goodbye to my dad and there are so many things he’s going to miss in our lives which I will never ever get over.

My dad was the funniest man on earth and deserved better.

But…

Anyone who knew my dad properly will know he had a fantastic youth career as a 800m athlete. So this year in September, I’m running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in his memory with the hopes to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Now this is way out my comfort zone because I’m no Kriss Akabusi, but I’m going to get the job done and I’m hoping you will donate.

I know money is tight in this current climate, but if you can’t donate, then sharing this post is free.

To those who are thinking of donating look at it this way…

Don’t donate for me or my family.

Donate for your dad, mum, children, their children, brother, sister, grandparent, uncle, auntie, the auntie/uncle you aren’t related to, cousin, best friend, colleague, hairdresser, bin man, dogwalker, pot dealer, clairvoyant or whoever you care about.

Thank you everyone.

RIP Dad x

Joe.
