We lost my dad to cancer on December 17th, 2022. The cancer he had was very aggressive and very complex. In his honor, I will be running the Newport Marathon on April 15th, 2022. In the weeks running up to this event, I am raising money to benefit the Mayo Clinic (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research), which heavily focuses on cancer research and treatment. Any donation will help make an impact. The research they do will help people in the future with more effective screenings, treatments, care, and maybe someday, a cure. My Dad always put others before himself and was the most selfless person I have ever known. Anything we can do to make a positive difference for those challenged with this affliction in the future will both honor his spirit and intent and help others.
