Running for Camp Beagle
Donation protected
As we all enter a a New Year feeling hopeful, positive and open minded about what lies ahead of us for 2025, the same cannot be said for the 2000+ beagles who are housed at MBR Acres. Their fate is sealed for another year of senseless animal experimentation and toxicity testing leading to their slow and painful death. These test are out dated and useless. These dogs are housed like poisoners and can be seen displaying pathological repetitive behaviours showing that their needs are not being met. They will never feel the grass beneath their paws or the rain on their fur - the only time they will leave the facility is to be taken to another laboratory for toxicology testing where they will be poisoned with bleach, weed killer and other chemicals. Their ‘enrichment’ is a couple of rubber toys hanging from a chain in their dirty concrete floor pens. Animal welfare rights do not apply here.
If this is news to you that this is happening on your doorstep, you are not alone. UK legislation have attempted to keep what happens here out of the public domain until undercover footage was released in 2021 sparking protests outside of MBR acres who have been breeding and selling puppies for animal testing for over 40 years. Camp Beagle was then set up - a lawful campaign calling to shut down MBR Acres and ban animal testing in the UK with a switch to modern, proven non-animal methods. Camp Beagle spread awareness of what goes on in this facility and exposes what is being concealed to the public. The camp is here 365 days a year 24/7 raising awareness and taking direct action through protests and demonstrations to pressure institutions to stop using animals in experiments. They will not stop until this happens. This is a cause very close to my heart and I want to do everything I can to support the camp to continue with their protest and mission. The camp needs basic necessities such as food, toilets, insulation, gas etc.
Please if you can, donate what you are able to, I am running a 10k at Goodwood race track on Sunday 9th February and looking to raise as much as I can for Camp Beagle to continue their mission to get MBR acres shut down and you will also be giving me a ton of willpower to complete my run and support something that means so much to me.
Thank you for reading if you have gotten this far and I will include some links below if you would like more information about Camp Beagle and MBR Acres.
