Running for Baseball

My name is Derek Eccles and I am fundraising for Canyon Ridge High School baseball program. I am going to take on some physical burden in hopes to lighten the financial burden of others. In Twin Falls, Idaho we have the beautiful Snake River canyon. The road that descends from the top of the canyon down to Centennial Park is roughly 1 mile long with about 500 ft. of elevation loss. Which means it is about 1 mile back to the top with 500 ft. of elevation gain. My goal is to go up and down that canyon road as many times as I can in 9 hours. I will start at 8 am and stop at 5 pm. This will take place on Saturday, February 5th 2022. I will run/walk in cold, rain or snow but maybe not ice :) My hope is that I can find some supporters out there who will donate. I am looking for individuals, businesses and anyone willing to help out. Thanks so much!

My target goal I would like to raise is $6,000. All of the money raised will be donated to the Canyon Ridge Baseball teams to cover costs for hats, belts, socks, hoodies, practice shirts, long sleeve cold weather gear or other gear pertinent to the program’s needs. This will hopefully take some financial burden off of the players and the parents. I appreciate your support!

Here are a few options of how you can sponsor/pledge:

1- Per Foot of elevation gained. Down and up is 500 feet of gain. So for example if you donated .01 per/foot then you would pay $5 each time I made a lap or down and back up.

2- Per mile and down and up is 2 miles.

3- Per lap- so each time I go down and back up it is a lap.

4- Flat donation

5- Or just leave me a bottle of water or Gatorade at the top of the canyon 

This information may help in determining how you might choose to donate. My goal is to make at least 20 laps (down and up 20 times). That comes out to 10,000 feet of elevation gain and roughly 40 miles. I will certainly do more if I can but that is my goal.
