I’m Eric Tozer, and I’m running the TCS NYC Marathon to support the children and families living with Nemaline Myopathy. They are the toughest people I’ve ever met, battling a rare muscle disease that affects breathing, swallowing, and mobility with courage every single day. I ran 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days in 2019, and now I’m running NYC to make every mile count for them.
I’ve seen this disease up close. My wife has dedicated the last 10 years of her life to A Foundation Building Strength and now serves as its Executive Director. I’ve watched firsthand what Nemaline Myopathy demands, not just of the kids, but of every person who loves them.
I also know something about living with a disease that never lets you rest. I have Type 1 diabetes, and like NM, it is relentless. There are no days off. No breaks. Both diseases are 24/7/365, demanding everything from the kids, their families, and the communities around them. That shared reality makes this personal in ways I don’t take lightly.
A Foundation Building Strength is the only organization fully dedicated to finding effective treatments for Nemaline Myopathy, leading the way with a historic $3.6 million research commitment to advance gene therapy and clinical trial readiness. That work brings real hope, treatments that could genuinely change the course of these children’s lives.
Every dollar you give goes directly toward that breakthrough science and support for families facing this disease. Your gift moves gene therapy and clinical trials forward, bringing us closer to life-changing treatments for the NM community.
Please join me. Donate today and let’s run toward a future where these kids get the fighting chance they deserve!
Thank you for your support!
