Running 26.2 miles for Brainwaves NI
RUNNERS ASSEMBLE!!!
This year I will be running the full 26.2 miles of the Belfast Marathon dressed as a Marvel Superhero to raise funds for Brainwaves NI.
Brainwaves NI is Northern Ireland’s only volunteer led brain Tumour research and support charity. Over the last 10-15 years there has been minimal progress in the treatment of Brain Cancer. Research is vital!
They provide vital Research funding to the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research at Queen’s University Belfast.
In recent years their fundraising has enabled them to provide funding of more than £500,000 towards research.
Why a Superhero you ask? Because every single person who is battling Brain Tumours or any form of Cancer is a Superhero battling evil every day.
Back in 2011, my father lost his battle with a Stage 3 Malignant Meningioma Brain Tumor after having 4 surgeries in 5 years and in 2014 we raised over £1000 for The Brain Tumor Charity.
As it has been 10 years since the last fundraiser I would love to raise funds for our local volunteers and hope to promote the great work that they do.
Want to join me in making a difference? any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
