Running (and fundraising) in Lucy Simpson's Memory

Donation protected
In November 2024, our sister Lucy's and her family’s world was turned upside down when she was unexpectedly diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer. Despite receiving exceptional care from the dedicated oncology and clinical trials team at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire, Lucy passed away on 11th August 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 40.

There are no words that could adequately describe the type of person or sister Lucy was, the huge impact she had on so many people's lives, or the incredible loss our family continues to carry.

In memory of Lucy, and in honour of her almost limitless positivity, strength, and kindness, family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances raised £5,000 last year for Bowel Cancer UK: a remarkable amount of money that we know Lucy would have been so proud of.

Prior to her diagnosis, Lucy was a keen runner, had become a regular parkrunner, and was due to run her first ever 10k race (which she would have smashed). We now wish to continue her running and fundraising legacy as her sisters by participating in two separate events this year: Tami in her first 10k race in Leicester's Run for All 10k in March, and Stevie in the 60km trail route of the Airborne Freedom Run in September 2026.

We will kindly be asking for donations again to Bowel Cancer UK. Your support will help further the charity’s vital work in improving care for those affected by bowel cancer, and in advancing the vision of a future where no one has to suffer or die from this devastating disease.

Thank you,

Stevie and Tami
