Hi everyone,

My name is Michelle Pierre-Carr and I live in London. On Sunday, 9th November, I’ll be taking part in a Run for Jamaica organised by the ERC Community to help raise funds for my family in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, who have been directly impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

The storm has left their community devastated — no electricity, limited clean water, and poor sanitation. My family has been doing their best to stay strong, but every day is a struggle. It’s heartbreaking knowing they’re living without the basic things so many of us take for granted — a light to see at night, clean water to drink, or a safe way to wash and cook.

I’m running this 5K because I want to help make a real difference. My goal is to raise enough money to buy a generator to bring power back to their home and a water tank so they can store clean, safe water. These two things would mean stability, comfort, and hope — a huge step towards rebuilding their lives after the hurricane.

I know that many people have donated simply because they want to help, and that support means the world.
