In six weeks, I’ll stand at the start line of one of the toughest challenges of my life a 400-kilometer non-stop race across Arizona.

Four hundred kilometers of heat, sleep deprivation, pain, and uncertainty.

Four hundred kilometers where there will be moments I’ll question everything.

Four hundred kilometers where continuing forward will be the only option.

But this time… I won’t be running just for me.

Because through my travels around the world, across deserts, mountains, and remote places. I’ve learned something that changed me forever:

I’ve realized how lucky I’ve been.

I was born into a safe home.

I grew up feeling loved.

I had opportunities to dream, to explore, to become who I am today.

And the truth is…

That wasn’t something I earned.

That was luck.

Because not everyone is born into safety.

Not everyone grows up feeling protected.

Not every child has the chance to simply be a child.

In the Sierra of Durango, Mexico, there are children who were born into hardship.

Kids who have faced challenges many of us can’t even imagine.

And yet… through sport, something beautiful has happened.

They’ve found confidence.

They’ve found community.

They’ve found safety.

They’ve found joy again.

They run.

They laugh.

They dream.

And behind that transformation is Fundación Semilla, a foundation that provides these children with shelter, food, education, and medical care.

Everything they do is funded purely through donations.

They work tirelessly to give these kids a safe place to grow, to heal, and to believe in a better future.

But after covering the essentials…

There’s often nothing left to support the sport that has helped these kids rediscover hope.

And that’s where this journey begins.

This year, as I prepare to run 400 kilometers, I want each mile to represent something bigger than myself.

My goal is simple, but powerful:

400 pairs of running shoes.

One pair for every kilometre I run.

Because when I reach those difficult moments…

When the body is tired…

When the night feels long…

When doubt creeps in…

I’ll know I’m not running alone.

I’ll know that there are kids in Durango who have already faced far greater hardships and they didn’t give up.

They’ll be my motivation to keep moving forward.

And together… we’ll turn every step into opportunity.

Once the race is complete, I will travel to Mexico, purchase the shoes with the funds collected, and personally bring them to Durango.

I’ll document the entire journey, from the race, to the purchase, to the moment we hand them over, so you can see exactly the impact we are creating together.

Each pair of shoes costs approximately $350 MXN pesos.

A small amount that can create a big change.

It means belonging.

It means confidence.

It means the chance to keep running toward a better future.
