For Maria: Why I Started HIGHBORN
I started HIGHBORN from my chemotherapy ward because I wanted to do more than just survive. I wanted to give women strength, dignity, and beauty even in their darkest times.
HIGHBORN was never just about skincare. It was about proving that when life knocks us down, we can rise again - stronger, braver, and more radiant than before.
Today, one of our own needs that resilience more than ever.
Meet Maria
Maria Brashier is a devoted wife and loving mum to two beautiful girls, Clíodhna and Peyton. She’s also one of our amazing HIGHBORN customers - a woman who embodies courage, grace, and everything this brand was built to celebrate.
Maria has faced cancer not once, not twice, but three times in just three years. Now she’s been told it’s not curable. She uses a wheelchair, yet still radiates hope and love for her family.
What matters most to her is simple: time with her husband and daughters, and the chance to make precious memories.
Maria, if you’re reading this - please know that you are everything I strive to be: strong, courageous, graceful, and endlessly inspiring.
Why I’m Running 102km
On October 18th, I’m running Maverick Jurassic Coast 102km ultramarathon with over 8,356 ft of elevation. Every mile will be for Maria.
Because this is why HIGHBORN exists. To show women like Maria they are not alone. To rally around them. To turn resilience into action.
Our Goal
We'd love to raise £500 to support Maria and her family with whatever they need most right now - whether that’s making memories, easing daily burdens, or simply giving them space to be together.
It may not sound like a lot. But together, we can make it happen - and I know this community has the heart to go beyond it.
How You Can Help
Please, if you’re able, donate today.
- £1 - a simple show of love. Every pound matters.
- £5 - a small gift, but a big message of support.
- £10 - the price of a coffee or two, but it means solidarity and love.
- £25 - comforts for Maria to help each day shine.
- £50 - memory-making moments with her girls right by her side
- £100+ - fuel for hope, dignity, and precious time together.
And if you can’t give right now, you can still help by sharing this page.
Every share spreads Maria’s story and doubles the love we can give.
Final Word
When I was in my chemotherapy ward, I promised myself that if I made it through, I’d do something meaningful with my second chance.
Maria’s fight reminds me why I made that promise. Why I created HIGHBORN.
Please join me in showing Maria she’s not alone. Let’s help her make the memories that matter most.
With love and gratitude,
