LOGLINE
A troubled man trying to keep on straight and narrow finds himself drawn back into a life of crime when his younger brother becomes indebted to a drug dealer, Now, he will do whatever it takes to save his brother, even if it pushes him down the rabbit hole he never wanted to be in.

INTRODUCTION
This crime drama started as a novel. Inspired by Ezed Williams's upbringing in North London, this story explores the struggles faced by Kingsy's family and friends and the pressure he finds himself under to keep everyone safe.

The ambition for this project is to create a moving and thought-provoking film, which explores complex nuanced emotions and decisions. At the forefront of this is Kingsy, a mid-20s black man. He is adamant about piecing his life together and finding a way out of the suffocating environment he is in. The only way out, however, is to embrace a life of crime - the life he wants to reject. The project draws inspiration in its subject matter and visual language from films like Kidulthood (2006), Blue Story (2019), Boyz n the Hood (1991) and Moonlight (2016). This film presents two viewpoints; the elders, who want to leave a life of crime behind but are trapped in its lifestyle and the youth, who are charging into following choices the elders had taken before
them.

SYNOPSIS
For Kingsy, family is everything. His mum is struggling to pay the bills and he's got a daughter to raise. Then there's his little brother, Reece, who's just trying to fit in. That worries Kingsy because where they live, it's really hard for youngers not to fall into crowds. Kingsy is devastated when he finds out Reece has been holding weed for Local, their kingpin, and, now he would do anything to prevent what happened to Michael, his best friend who just came out of prison and still can't move on because of Marvin, who wants him dead.

Michael is desperate to calve an honest life and career to reunite with his daughter but he can't do that without funds. Recce falls for a girl but gets on the wrong side of Sacko, a K-9 member - leading to him getting stabbed. At this point, Kingsy and Michael feel like they have no choice but to do one more job and that one more job is to intercept a delivery of stolen goods.

It's a vicious circle. When you come from the Miles, escaping is not a reality many enjoy. My aim for this movie is to remind us all that the decisions we make today can affect our future.
