BentleyBrothers Run4MensMentalHealth

Hello Everyone. Our names are Nick and Lachlan Bentley. We are planning to do a charity run to raise awareness about men's mental health as it is a growing issue that hits us close to home. We are also trying to raise some money that will be to donated to our chosen chairty, this charity is helping men all over Australia to find a voice and talk about how they feel and to kill the stigma. Did you know that 75% of suicides in Australia are men and globally every minute a man dies from suicide. So this is our story and a little about us. We are just two brothers, who have seen first hand the devastation the effects poor mental health can have on men. We have lost two uncle's to the black dog, Two beautiful caring young men that unfortunately suffered in silence for to long. These men left behind friends and family because they felt they couldn't speak up. What we are planning on doing is a run from Ballarat to Geelong to hopefully raise awareness about mens mental health and bring to light the issues men can have trying to speak and find a voice, unfortunately there is a stigma that stops men from seaking help. We are planning on doing this run on November 1st 2019 and we invite everyone to follow our progress weather on the day or on our istagram @bentley_brothers. The thing about this run is that Lachlan plans on doing the 93km run without any preparation or training he hopes by doing this, he can prove that no matter how hard something might be or how crazy something might seem. You will always make it to the finish as its all mental strength that drives you to your goal. Lachlan struggles himself with his mental health and finds it hard to talk or explain his feelings. So with this run he hopes to bury his own demons. We have also set a goal to raise $5000 but we need your help, you don't have to donate alot it can be as little as a $1 as it all helps. All money raised will be going to a grate non profit organization that is helping men find a voice and kick the stigma that follows mens mental health. Feel free to look them up on facebook, Instagram or on their website. They are called, A Chance For Change (ACFC) you can also donate to them directly. Please if you have made it this far we ask if you could please donate to help us reach that $5000 goal. #mensmentalhealth #speakingupismanningup #ACFC If you or somebody you know is struggling with mental illness please ask for help or contact lifeline 13 11 14
