We are Runderbolts, a running crew based across the UK and Nepal, and over the coming months we will be raising funds for communities affected by the devastating floods in Nepal through our community events, races, projects, and the collective efforts of our members. As a crew, we want to use the platform we have built through running to bring people together, celebrate our community, and support a cause that is deeply personal to many of us.

One of the first of these efforts was the Big Half, an event we have taken part in since its very beginning. We showed up once again this year with the same energy, pride, and commitment we bring every year, contributing to the diversity and spirit of the event while raising funds for Nepal. We completed the race yesterday, but our fundraising journey is only beginning.

In August 2026, devastating floods along the Bhote Koshi River caused widespread destruction across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha districts in Nepal. At the time of writing, over 1,050 people have died and nearly 4,000 remain missing, while families have lost their homes and entire communities are facing an enormous challenge of rescue, recovery, and rebuilding.

The injustice is hard to ignore. Nepal contributes less than 0.1% of global greenhouse gas emissions, yet is among the countries paying some of the highest prices for a climate crisis it did little to cause.

This is not an abstract cause for us. Nepal is home to many of us within the crew, families, friends, and communities.

That’s why Runderbolts will be fundraising for Nepal flood relief on an ongoing basis over the coming months. We’ll be using the races and events we take part in and host across the UK to keep raising awareness and funds, bringing our running community together in support of those affected.

Our next major fundraising effort will be at the BoltYard Ultra, taking place from 16 to 18 October. We’ll be raising additional funds throughout the event and selling Runderbolts merchandise, with proceeds going towards the relief effort. We’ll continue to look for more ways to turn our miles, events, community, and platform into meaningful support for Nepal.

One hundred percent of the funds raised through this campaign, minus GoFundMe’s processing fee, will be sent directly to communities on the ground in Nepal, working with trusted local partners to ensure the support reaches people and families most affected by the floods. We will share updates on how the funds are distributed and used as the relief effort continues.

This campaign is bigger than one race or one event. It is our commitment as a running crew to keep showing up for Nepal.

Whether you run with us, come to one of our events, buy some Runderbolts merchandise, share our campaign, or simply make a donation, every contribution helps.

Thank you for standing with Runderbolts and, most importantly, standing with Nepal.
