While we were out of town, our dog was in the hands of a friend. Probably scared and heavy with separation anxiety, he jumped off her 2nd story deck (trying to get home?)
When he hit the ground his trauma was so bad that his bladder ruptured. For 15 hours he was in shock, and bleeding internally, before the extent of his injury became known.
Thank you Dr. Teslaa of Alpen Veterinary for pushing through a 3.5 hour surgery. Dr. Teslaa described his bladder as a popped water balloon, and used over 100 sutures to mend him back together. If all goes well, he will heal without complication but will spend quite a few days under veterinary care.
His final bill will be extraordinarily expensive, depending on length of stay and if further surgeries are needed. I will not be able to cover it all out of pocket and am looking to the goodness of people's hearts to help me save my dogs life.
Please help Jim stay alive. He wants to run again some day.
