For Maja and Szymon
This year, we are doubling the support! On the occasion of the 12th edition of Run 4 a Smile, we are supporting the treatment of two beneficiaries of the Sursum Corda Association:
Maja Ogorzałek, a 6-year-old girl from Nowy Sącz, who struggles with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect called "common atrioventricular canal," which was surgically corrected when she was 19 months old. Unfortunately, after the surgery, her sternum did not heal properly, requiring another operation. Maja also suffers from muscle hypotonia, foot deformities, and Hashimoto's disease, which require intensive rehabilitation and constant specialist care.
Szymon Podgórski, a 6-year-old boy from Roztoka Ryterska, who was born as an extreme premature infant, suffered an intraventricular hemorrhage, sepsis, and retinopathy, and today struggles with cerebral palsy, quadriplegic muscle weakness, and severe visual impairment. He requires intensive rehabilitation, specialized therapy, and medical equipment to have a chance for an improved quality of life.
This is a charity taking place in Poland but as a organizer I want to bring this to my local community as I believe that if we join together we can achieve way more ☺️
look out for the #run4asmile on facebook and instagram to take part in our 4km run/walk , share your route and results to inspire others!!!
