Help my best friend walk again

Can you imagine the agony of watching your best friend suffer? That's our reality.

Ziggy, our playful pup whose spunk and wigglebutts filled our home, now lies in extreme pain, barely able to walk.

His bright spirit is dimmed, replaced by confusion, depression and despair.

We need your help to heal our beloved companion and bring back the happy love of life he deserves.

Ziggy isn't just a dog; he's family. He is wicked smart and a survivor. His spunkiness and endless love bring us joy every day. But now, he is in extreme pain, and it's breaking our hearts.

Ziggy was a rescue dog who overcame the worst kind of difficult and traumatic past before we adopted him as a “hard adoption." Through love and training, he has become the goofy, smart,(a bit shy) pizza loving pup he is today.

More than anything,(even pizza!), he loves to run, race and play at the park. And now that k joy has been taken from him.

Here’s what happened: On Dec 30 2024, Ziggy caught a toy, and, full of excitement, he slipped while eagerly running downstairs to play with his toy. He landed awkwardly, injuring his leg. I saw him go from joy to agony right in front of my eyes…my entire body went numb. When he tried to walk, his leg buckled beneath him, causing him to slip, further exasperating already extreme pain.

Watching our once happy, energetic dog suffer has been heartbreaking to say the least.

The guilt I feel is the worst feeling, knowing you cannot take him to the vet and help him. Instead you have to see him in pain every second of every day. The look he gives us, and knowing that he depends on us to take care of him, while we know that we cant. The helplesness of him not understanding why we havent helped him. Feeling helpless and beginning to feel hopeless. Its enough to send someone spirling.

We are asking for your help financially due to a few things. First thing is my multiple leg surgeries last year, which has lost a lot of business do to not being available because too much time in the hospital. The medical bills on top of losing customers, business being slow during the holidays and the weather are some of the reasons that we need your help to help Ziggy.

Ziggy has a crucial pre-op appointment at Liberty Animal Hospital in Westminster, CO, with his future surgeon, on Monday to determine the extent of his injury, do blood work x-rays and create a treatment plan. It is $85 plus any pain meds that he so very badly needs (he has been out for a little under a week). After the appointment, we only have 30 days to raise the remaining $3,200 needed for the operation or we have to start the process all over again, leaving him in agony longer and costing more money.
