Run, Walk and Cycle for Type 1!
June 2021 marks one year since Bella was taken into hospital and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. As a family, we have decided to raise money for the JDRF – the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. They are working hard to find a cure for this lifelong condition and help provide support and care for Type 1 children and their families. There is nothing any one can do to prevent Type 1, it's an autoimmune illness where the body attacks the pancreas and it becomes redundant. We now have to act as Bella's pancreas, adjusting and administering insulin 24/7. To help raise money for the JDRF so they can continue to carry out research and hopefully, one day, find a cure for this disease, we will be walking, running and cycling a combined distance of 250 miles together over the summer holidays – from the 19th July – 1st September. If any friends would like to join us for some of our summer walks or bike rides, we would love to have you with us! If you have two minutes, please take a look at the video I have put together to help others find out more about Bella and what is entailed living with Type 1 Diabetes.
