Hi, my name is Michelle and I have decided to run minimum 2km a day for 100 consecutive days, whilst raising funds for my son's Taekwondo Club, Ignite Taekwondo. Why?
Couple of reasons really, I broke my ankle 5 years ago in what could have been a fatal car accident and although I did everything right to get back on my feet, I lost my mojo a little for getting back into fitness due to the fear of my ankle giving in, which has over time made it weaker. So I woke up one on the eve of New Years Eve and thought I would run again, to strengthen my ankle and prove to myself I can do it and hopefully get back to training with my son & kicking the taekwondo pads again myself .........( & of a certain age with menopausal symptoms, doesn't help either!!), and thought I would also do it whilst fundraising for vital funds to support my son Jacob's Taekwondo Club, Ignite Taekwondo (Broughton, North Lincolnshire) to support them in their journey in continuing to develop and grow a fully competitive inclusive club, with SEN member such as as Autism ADHA and hearing impairment.
Our country is now one of the leaders in Taekwondo, winning Olympic medals at the last 5 games and we are now winning at the Para Olympics as well.
The dream of the club is to start it's own competition team and one day to have someone from the club to make the GB team and by having the funding/sponsorship to be able to implement these things, along with many other opportunities it is the believe that this will help inspire and motivate all the students, of all abilities. The club is blessed as they have the right environment and attitude to help a child who has zero confidence making friends and feel included as Taekwondo is an individual sport, children with needs really take to it and feel comfortable.
The club really is starting from the ground up so any support will go a long way.
So if you would like to sponsor me, whatever the amount it would be greatly appreciated.
Wish me luck, especially on the days that I know it will be hard.........
