Run the Rotary: a fundraiser for fetal loss recovery room at the Victoria Hospital.
“The Summer Room”
My name is Marcie Beaulac and I am one of the senior medical students ("clinical clerks") at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert. Myself, along with the Victoria Hospital Foundation, have proposed a fundraiser to support a renovation project of a labour room on the maternity ward into a comforting space dedicated to supporting mothers, and their families, with fetal loss.
Fetal loss is not a topic that is openly discussed but it is a common reality on the maternity ward. While the staff at the Victoria Hospital are extraordinary in providing their care and support, the area that is lacking is a space that provides specialized equipment, comfort, and peaceful atmosphere for these families. My goal is to provide a private place for them during this very difficult time.
My plan is to run the entire Rotary Trail around the city of Prince Albert in support of this cause on May 15th, 2021. It is a total distance of 23km!
We appreciate any donation needed to complete the project.
