In 1981 a team of 5 men set the record for the fastest National Three Peaks Relay Run - 470 miles in 54hrs 49mins. The runners took on the challenge starting at sea level in Fort William, Scotland before tackling the UK's three highest peaks - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - before finishing at Caernarfon Castle in Wales. 38 years later that record still stands. In August 2019 a team of 5 ordinary runners, strangers brought together to find their extraordinary, will set out to create a new mixed relay record and maybe, just maybe break a 38 year old record in the process. 5 runners - Sean Merryweather, Jessica Haney, Howard Crompton, Claire Hobson and Guy Stapleford (aka Miles for Wishes). 5 reasons WHY - Help for Heroes, Mind, Run 4 Cancer, Brain Tumour Research and Make-A-Wish UK. 1 extraordinary challenge. In one weeks time RunThePeaks team member Guy will be taking on the Welsh Three Peaks - aiming to set a new record for cycling the 140 mile challenge solo.

On the 24th May Guy will start at Snowdon and make his way south to Cadair Idris and finish at Peny y Fan. The challenge will involve 140 miles of cycling, 17 miles of running, all taking in over 14,000ft of elevation.

A tough challenge alone, but can Guy complete it in under 22hrs and set a new record?

Guy, also known as Miles for Wishes, is using this challenge to raise money for Make-A-Wish UK - your donations would be very welcome.
