Hi, my name is Jenny and I’m kindly asking for your support after surviving a horrific car accident.

While traveling in Costa Rica, on my way home to the airport in a shuttle bus, I was run over by a full tank truck and left with my skull broken and nearly every single bone in my face shattered.

I was leaking brain fluid and remained in a critical state for months, not knowing if I would survive.

The accident happened in a foreign country where I did not speak the language, making an already terrifying situation even more intense, isolating and difficult to navigate — medically, emotionally and legally.

Since the accident, I have gone through 7 major operations, we are talking over 8-hour surgeries with over 15 people in the room. The physical pain, medications with side effects and nightmares, PTSD, trauma and fear have been overwhelming.

Many times I wanted to give up.

I survived, I’m so grateful for that, but it has affected every part of my life — physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.

While trying to stay strong and visualizing the best possible outcome through all of this, I can no longer carry this alone.

To this day, neither the shuttle bus company I was traveling with, nor the tank truck company or their insurance, have supported me with a single dollar. Nor has my Swedish insurance covered these expenses.

I was left alone with medical expenses exceeding $100,000, additional lawyer fees, travel costs connected to medical examinations in Costa Rica, and over 1.5 years where I was unable to work.

Everything I had saved before the accident — and everything I have earned since, even while recovering in deep pain — has gone directly toward surviving this situation.

After the accident, I have struggled to pay rent, buy food and rebuild a normal life. I have slept on a couch while trying to recover from severe trauma, surgeries and constant stress around survival.

This experience has been more difficult than I can fully put into words, not only for me, but for my family as well. I wish this for no one.

I am now asking for help from the bottom of my heart.

Any support, no matter the amount, would help me get back on my feet, stabilize my life and continue healing without living in constant fear around survival and debt.

I truly believe I survived this for a reason. Through my art and music, I hope to transform this experience into something that can support others going through pain, trauma and hardship, and share what I have learned about resilience, humanity and strength.
