Run in Honor of Suze & Bri for the BH Food Pantry

In January 2022, our family and community lost two amazing people to cancer. Brian Murphy and Suze Foster were born and raised in Bar Harbor, where we as a family would always congregate in the summer and for special occasions.

Suze, you may know, started Bar Harbor Brewing Company and was a positive force in the community, striving for progress and pickleball courts.

Brian was on the MDI High School cross country team and helped bring the team to win states in 1972. Just last summer, he celebrated with his teammates the 49th anniversary of their win (see the article in the Bangor Daily News). When I asked him about cross country, he admitted he never really enjoyed the running bit but joined the team for the camaraderie.

Members of the Murphy family have signed up for the MDI Marathon & Half. What better way to honor them than to run as Brian did, in the community they loved and that loved them right back! In addition to running for them, we are seeking donations to go to a community organization they both cared for, the Bar Harbor Food Pantry.

More information about Bar Harbor Food Pantry: We serve all of Hancock County residents that self identify as being food insecure. They are able to come into the pantry and receive food at no cost to them.
