Hi everyone, it's Shaun! I'm lacing up the running shoes for a challenge: running a full marathon on January 1st 2026, to kick off the new year with purpose. But this isn't just about crossing the finish line - it's about making a real difference for our planet and its incredible wildlife. That's why I'm raising funds for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), an organisation that's been fighting for conservation since 1961.
Why WWF? I've always been passionate about the environment and animals. I've seen how climate change, habitat loss, and human impact are threatening species like tigers, elephants, and polar bears. WWF's work hits close to home - they're protecting forests, oceans, and rivers while pushing for sustainable living and cutting carbon emissions to combat climate catastrophe. Every pound we raise helps fund their global efforts, from saving endangered habitats to advocating for policies that ensure people and wildlife thrive together.
With the run just days away, I'm committing to those 26.2 miles as a symbol of endurance - for me, and for the planet.
My goal is to raise as much money as possible to support WWF's mission.
Any amount helps, whether it's £5 for the end of 2025 or £26 for the marathon miles. Thanks in advance for joining me on this journey - your support means the world.
More information about WWF: WWF is the world's leading independent conservation organisation. Our mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together. To achieve our mission, we're finding ways to help transform the future for the world's wildlife, rivers, forests and seas; pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our one planet.
