I’m running the Nationwide Children’s Half Marathon this fall — not for the miles, but for a cause close to my heart.

I’m running in honor of Wendel, an active and determined young athlete who was diagnosed with acute leukemia In February. Earlier this year, he was training for track and mountain biking — now he’s facing the fight of his life with strength and courage well beyond his years.

While Wendel continues treatment at Children’s Hospital, I’ll be running to raise awareness and funds in his name. Every step is for him — and every donation helps support him, his family and the amazing care teams and research that make recovery possible for kids like Wendel.
