On Sunday 29th March 2026, my sister, Sinéad, and I will take on (our very first!) Omagh half marathon.
This may not seem like a big deal to some but for us it is quite the challenge! We are taking this on in memory of our Dad, Mickey, and hoping to raise funds to give back to the people who cared for Dad in his final weeks.
Dad passed away on 26th October 2024 as a consequence of numerous health complications pertaining to years of living with Type 1 diabetes.
Dad spent his final weeks in Ward 2 of the South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen. The care and compassion Dad and our family were shown during this time by every single staff member of Ward 2 was beyond exceptional and something we will never forget. These people are nothing short of angels.
Nothing can measure how they carried us through those tough days but by doing this fundraiser, we hope it will convey how appreciative we were of their support, kindness, and empathy throughout that time.
We would love to raise as much as we possibly can and would kindly ask you to please donate, to help make our challenge worthwhile, and to give back to the ward that we hold close to our hearts and were there for us in our time of need.
Thank you.
The Keenan Family
