Hello friends and family. I have been given an awesome opportunity this year: to ride in the “Run for the Wall.” This event is dedicated to all KIA, MIA, and POW men and women who have not come home from all wars. We will start in Ontario, CA, and ride for 10 days across the United States, escorted by state and local law enforcement, ending at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. This portion of the ride will be over 2,600 miles. Including my journey from Louisiana to Ontario, CA, and then back to Louisiana from Washington, DC, I will be riding more than 6,000 miles in total. Along the way, we will stop at veterans' homes and VA hospitals, and assist in wreath-laying ceremonies and other events as requested by families. There are currently four routes for this ride: Northern, Central, Southern, and Sandbox. I will be on the Southern route, and all routes will meet in Washington, DC. This ride is very close to my heart because I come from a military family—my dad, brother, and son have all served during wartime, and we have lost many friends along the way. I am starting this GoFundMe to help me make the ride and to donate anything left over to the Wounded Warrior Project. This program has been life-saving for my son, who returned with PTSD and attempted suicide three times. Not only did they help my son, but they were also there for me. I truly don’t know if I could have gotten through everything without them. If you are looking to support a great program, this is one I can personally vouch for. Please help support me and the Wounded Warrior Project. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated and will make a difference for veterans and their families.
