Run for Reid 2020

Tax deductible

The time has come to Run For Reid! Year 6 is upon us and its going to be the best one yet.  Every cent we raise goes straight to EdMarc Hospice for Children in Portsmouth, VA.  7 years ago, our son Reid Hargrave passed away from a debilitating brain condition at 3 and half years old. Edmarc Hospice meant so much to Reid and our family. They are amazing people who do incredibly important work for sick children and their families. Please help us raise money for this wonderful organization and to keep the memory of our angel Reid alive. He fought so hard every moment of his short life just to make it through to the next day. Let’s fight for these kids and have some fun doing it! Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us. Our run is on Sunday March 22nd, the Shamrock Half Marathon in VA Beach, VA.

More information about Edmarc, Inc. (Edmarc Hospice for Children): The mission of Edmarc Hospice for Children is to ease the trauma of a child's illness or death, and to reduce the disabling effects of pediatric illness, loss, and bereavement on families. Edmarc's health care services allow a child with a life-limiting illness to stay at home whenever possible. Remaining at home helps alleviate some of the child's stress, and can make healthcare for the child less traumatic. But when a child is ill, Edmarc never forgets that the entire family is affected. Families who have a child with a life-limiting illness experience a high level of stress, including emotional, social, spiritual, and financial pressures. This stress often becomes debilitating to the entire family, sometimes resulting in dysfunctional family dynamics, financial hardship, and divorce. To help families cope, Edmarc offers a broad range of services to address not only the physical and emotional needs of the child, but the multi-dimensional needs of the family as well. Our average daily census is 60 families (210 people) receiving home health services and anticipatory grief support and 154 families (539 people) in bereavement care. Edmarc is a non-profit hospice with a voluntary Board of Directors. All health care services are provided in the child's own home and regardless of a family's ability to pay.
